At Blackrock Educate Together Secondary School, the wellbeing and success of every student is at the heart of what we do. Our Student Support Team (SST) plays a central role in ensuring that each young person feels safe, included, and supported throughout their time in our school.
What is the Student Support Team?
The Student Support Team is a multidisciplinary group of staff who work collaboratively to promote student wellbeing, identify emerging needs, and coordinate supports. The team meets regularly to discuss patterns, review student needs, and plan proactive interventions that help create a positive and inclusive school environment.

Promote wellbeing through whole-school initiatives and preventative approaches.

Identify students who may need additional support, whether for academic, social, emotional, or behavioural reasons.

Coordinate supports and interventions, ensuring students receive the right help at the right time.

Liaise with parents/guardians to ensure a cooperative, supportive approach to each student’s development.

Engage with external agencies, when appropriate, to provide specialised assistance.

Monitor and review progress to ensure interventions are effective and adjusted where needed.
