Tara is from Roscommon, and she has just finished up teaching in Athlone Community College. As well as leading choirs in her previous schools, Tara has also run ukulele and orchestra clubs. Tara holds an honours degree from the Dundalk Institute of Technology and an honours Professional Masters (PME) in Education from the University of Limerick.

Terry is from Wicklow, and he is leaving Coláiste Chraobh Abhann (where he has taught since 2006) to take up his new role in Blackrock ETSS. Terry holds an honours teaching degree from the University of Glasgow, and in 2019, he was awarded an honours Diploma in School Leadership by UCD. Terry has played and coached Gaelic Football, and he was the coordinator of the extra-curricular programme in his previous school.

Sarah is from Mayo, and comes to Blackrock ETSS from Sandymount Park ETSS. Sarah holds an honours degree from the University of Limerick, an honours PME from UCG, and a Masters of Philosophy (English language teaching) from TCD. Sarah is currently the captain of the Irish Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team who won the European Championship in 2019. Sarah has led Ultimate Frisbee and basketball clubs in her previous schools.

Donagh is from Dublin, and he has spent the last decade of his career in Tallaght Community School. Donagh holds an honours degree, honours PME, and an honours Diploma in School leadership from UCD.. Donagh established and coached girls’ and boys’ rugby teams in his previous school, he led the Business in the Community initiative, and he managed his school’s website too.

Kathryn is from Dublin, and comes to Blackrock ETSS from Sandymount ETSS. Kathryn holds an honours teaching degree from DCU. Kathryn ran science clubs in her previous schools where the focus was on topics like rocket science, food science, and cosmetics. Kathryn also has a passion for drama and has even co-written pantomimes for her local musical society.

Miriam is from Dublin, and she comes to Blackrock ETSS from Loreto Foxrock. Miriam holds an honours degree and an honours PME from TCD, a UNESCO Development Education certificate, and an honours Music Teaching Diploma from the Royal Irish Academy. Miriam led Development Education/Social Justice projects and reading and writing initiatives in her previous school.

Alice is from Wicklow, and she comes to Blackrock ETSS from Cabinteely Community School. Alice holds an honours teaching degree from the National College for Art and Design. Alice taught Art in Sweden for two years, and she also led the costume design for her school’s musicals during her time there. Alice has also run a mindfulness club and a Knit and Stitch club in her previous schools.

Leah is from Clare, and she comes to Blackrock ETSS from Rockport School in Co. Down. Leah holds an honours degree from the University of Limerick, an honours teaching qualification from Queens University, and an honours diploma in psychology from Dublin Business School. Leah led debating, literacy and hiking initiatives in her previous school.

Anne Ridge, secretary

Anne holds an honours arts degree from UCD and she has worked in different roles in the private and public sectors including positions in the EBS and DLR County Council. Anne is a volunteer in her local rugby club where she helps with administration, first aid and Covid safety duties.

Irene Hayden, SNA

Irene comes to Blackrock ETSS from St Laurence’s College in Loughlinstown. Irene has worked in both mainstream and special class settings as a SNA. Irene has qualifications from Carlow College and Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education, and before becoming a SNA, Irene worked in the private sector.

Saoirse Reade, SNA

Saoirse comes to Blackrock ETSS from Setanta Special School in Greenhills. Saoirse has qualifications from Sallynoggin College of Further Education. In her spare time, Saoirse volunteers with her local branch of St John Ambulance.
